Navan Education Centre is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with Féile Léinn na nÓg – the Children’s Learning Festival. It will take place on our campus on Saturday 18th May from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The 24 exhibiting schools represent large urban and small rural schools from Nobber to Dunboyne and from Enfield to Stamullen. There is also a high representation of schools from Navan, Kells, Trim and outlying areas. They cover the diversity of schools; Special School, Denominational School, Educate Together, Gaelscoil, a Community primary school run by Co. Meath VEC as well as one VEC post-primary school. The Festival will showcase pupils’ project work and each school will organise the pupils on a rota basis during the day to talk about their projects to members of the public visiting their stands. The schools will exhibit on a wide variety of themes which include Science Experiments, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Energy, the Sun and Planets, Computer Programming, Healthy Eating, Fitness, Animal Habits, Personal Hygiene, Write-a-Book Project, Where we Live, Ireland in Europe, School Life etc. Each participating school will receive a commemorative certificate and plaque.
It promises to be an exciting family day with CoderDojo Projects, Science Demos, a Family Maths Trail and other attractions. Navan Education Centre welcomes exhibitors from organisations that support children’s Literacy, Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths or from bodies who have a remit to promote children’s Health, Safety and general Welfare to take a stand and promote their message.
